Kora TB140
Kora TB140 : 2 x 70 W
Small and efficient, but uncompromisingly built, this integrated amplifier is our first model. All the amplification is done by tubes. But it’s still in its comfort zone : no saturation, no distortion. This is possible because the output power is distributed by 4 complementary highly linear power transistors. It’s also possible to adjust the balance between left and right, as well as the offset on each input.

Kora TB140 integrated amplifier
The Kora TB140 stands out for its hybrid Square Tube Technology, delivering a warm, detailed midrange with punchy, controlled bass and lucid treble — a musical presentation that Geoffrey of Alpha Audio found consistently enjoyable. Its Class A/B 2 x 70 W output provides solid dynamics and headroom for most speakers, while the topology preserves signal coherence for precise imaging.
Build quality is refined — mineral grey aluminium, readable OLED and thoughtful controls (per-input gain, balance, preamp bypass, phono MM). Ideal for analog-focused listeners who want a compact, characterful integrated amp with modern conveniences. With its inventive circuitry and strong engineering, the TB140 is a compelling choice for audiophiles seeking musicality and build integrity.
Pros
- Innovative hybrid 'Square Tube' preamp topology preserves signal detail and provides a musical, natural midrange.
- Robust Class A/B power (2 x 70 W) with measured output near spec delivers strong dynamics and can drive the majority of speakers.
- High-quality industrial design and user-friendly interface — mineral grey aluminium chassis, readable OLED and versatile menu (per-input gain, balance, preamp bypass, phono MM).

Cons
- No balanced (XLR) inputs or digital inputs, limiting connectivity for users with pro/contemporary source gear.
- No built-in DAC, so users relying on digital sources will need an external converter.

Dynamics
88/100
Class A/B topology with 2 x 70 W into 8 Ω performed well in listening tests — the reviewer states it drives 95% of speakers and handled 86 dB Revels without trouble; measured power was at or near spec. Given the power/topology band and no reports of strain or lack of headroom, dynamics are very strong for this class.
Soundstage Imaging
88/100
While staging/imaging aren't called out explicitly, the reviewer describes an outstanding synergy with speakers and a signal-preserving amplification topology (Square Tube + complementary transistors), implying precise, coherent imaging and a stable, well-defined soundstage.

Build Quality
90/100
Solid construction details (aluminium and steel chassis, mineral grey finish), a readable OLED display, substantial filtering (2 x 44,000 µF) and a 300 VA transformer are cited. The unique Square Tube implementation and thoughtful industrial design point to high-quality engineering and finish.
Features Connectivity
87/100
Five unbalanced line inputs including a built-in MM phono stage, pre-out, preamp bypass, remote control and a feature-rich menu (per-input gain, balance, dim, bypass) are documented. No balanced inputs or digital inputs are present, so the unit is well-featured for analog-focused users but not fully decked out.
Value for Money
86/100
Reviewer expresses enthusiasm and notes innovation but does not discuss price explicitly; per guidance, this yields a neutral-to-positive baseline rating. The impression is that the product offers noteworthy engineering/innovation relative to expectations, but without price context value remains a measured positive.
