Jay’s Audio specifies a substantial 15 kg chassis, segregated digital and analog power supplies, four encapsulated Talema transformers, and discrete output-stage circuitry. The available review says little about casework execution, long-term reliability, or internal workmanship in use.

Connectivity is extensive, with USB, I2S, BNC and RCA S/PDIF, AES/EBU, and Toslink inputs alongside both RCA and balanced XLR outputs. It supports PCM up to 384 kHz and DSD up to DSD256 through I2S, while its pure-DAC/preamp modes add useful system flexibility.

Although no current retail price is supplied, Beekhuyzen explicitly says the DAC2-MK3 sounds great for the money and rates it very highly in his reference setup. He also places its resolution below the Chord DAVE, but presents that as a comparison with a higher-performing and presumably far more expensive reference rather than a value objection.
