What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 80/100
The available review characterizes the Pico Slim as neutral and free of harshness, with particular attention to its well-controlled behavior with sensitive in-ear monitors. It offers useful low-output-impedance design and precise low-level volume control, though the review provides little detail on resolution, dynamic authority, or background noise.
Transparency Resolution
78/100
Currawong describes the amplifier as “dead neutral” and without harshness, suggesting a clean, uncolored presentation. The review does not directly discuss fine-detail retrieval, separation, openness, or resolving ability.
Tonal Balance Musicality
87/100
The presentation is described as dead neutral, with no harshness and no added bass lift or euphoric coloration. Listeners wanting an honest, even-handed portable amplifier rather than a warmer or more romantic voicing should find that character appealing.
Dynamics
75/100
The review does not meaningfully address transient attack, punch, headroom, or macro- and microdynamic expression. There is also no direct evidence of how the Pico Slim performs with demanding full-size headphones.
Noise Floor
75/100
The reviewer highlights excellent volume control and no channel imbalance with highly sensitive IEMs, which is valuable for low-level listening. However, there is no direct report on hiss, hum, or black-background performance with sensitive earphones.
Headphone Compatibility
87/100
Its very low output impedance and precise volume behavior are specifically presented as solutions for highly sensitive IEMs. The available review does not establish how broadly it drives high-impedance dynamics or difficult planar headphones.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
75/100
The review calls it a neat little portable amplifier, but offers no substantive comments on chassis construction, controls, connectors, long-term durability, or internal execution. Reviewers say little about build quality beyond its compact concept.
Features Usability
80/100
The Pico Slim’s useful practical strengths are its low output impedance and unusually precise volume control for sensitive IEM use. The available review does not discuss connection options, gain settings, DAC functionality, battery life, or other convenience features.
Value for Money
85/100
The listed price range is $399 to $1,099, but the available review does not compare the Pico Slim with competing portable amplifiers or explicitly judge its value. There is no reviewer evidence that it is either a bargain or difficult to justify at its asking price.

Manufacturer's Description — HeadAmp
Pico Slim
The Pico Slim is HeadAmp's smallest amplifier, at a mere 9.4mm thick! Inside it holds finely tuned audio circuitry, including a unique 255-step volume control, and a powerful battery capable of 60 hours of playback time. The chassis is milled from solid aluminum, giving this tiny amplifier a robust build that's made to travel.
The Pico Slim is designed to be an ideal companion to in-ear monitors and efficient low-impedance headphones, by using a special technology to maintain perfect channel matching even at very low listening levels. The Pico Slim's advanced circuitry handles complex multi-driver, multi-crossover in-ear monitors with ease, and maintains a jet-black background for relaxed listening.
The Pico Slim includes a USB charger, and a protective leather amplifier case.
Our Take
With the Pico Slim, HeadAmp offers a unique portable amplifier, specifically to improve your portable listening experience with high-efficiency headphones. While many portable devices, phones, and computers, may put out adequate volume for such headphones, they often do so with noisy circuitry an low-quality volume controls that can leave one channel louder than the other.
The Pico Slim solves these problems and more, keeping tight control of headphone drivers for accurate sound while maintaining perfect balance throughout the volume range. Combine these attributes with the super-low-noise circuit, and you have an elevated listening experience that can travel anywhere thanks to diminutive size and ample battery power. With convenient USB charging to boot, the Pico Slim is an ideal travel companion for the in-ear monitor or portable headphone enthusiast.
