Pros

Smooth, richly textured, slightly warm midrange excels with vocals and acoustic instruments.

Fast, transparent and highly detailed presentation gives rock and string-led music an exciting, immediate character.

Solid construction, light weight and potential for comfortable extended listening.

Regarded as excellent value within the Grado range.

Cons

Bass is articulate and textured but lacks deep extension and impactful weight.

Treble can become sibilant or harsh with cymbal-heavy material and bright recordings.

Extremely open design offers virtually no isolation and leaks sound heavily.

Comfort may be dependent on pads and listener preference.

What Reviewers Are Saying

"The new 'e' version of the Grado SR325 is the best one yet."

— Head-Fi

"These are the most open I've ever heard."

— The Honest Audiophile

"Grado puts a 'Classic' twist on its Award-winning SR325x open-backs, but have these new headphones lost a little of that signature magic?"

— What Hi-Fi

SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 88/100

Reviewers describe an energetic, transparent and expressive presentation with particularly compelling vocals, textures and rhythmic immediacy. The trade-offs are modest bass depth, occasional treble harshness on cymbal-heavy recordings, and a large stage that becomes somewhat grainy toward its edges.

Bass

85/100

The bass is praised for its tone, texture and detail rather than sheer quantity. It is present and articulate, but the reviewer notes that it does not reach especially deep and sits behind the rest of the presentation.

Midrange

94/100

Midrange performance is a major strength, described as smooth, richly textured, warm-leaning and “buttery romantic.” The reviewer especially recommends it for vocal lovers and rates its midrange among the best they have heard.

Treble

82/100

Treble is extended and revealing, bringing substantial clarity without generally sounding forced. However, recordings with prominent cymbals or heavy treble content can become sibilant and somewhat harsh.

Resolution Detail

90/100

The SR325 is repeatedly characterized as transparent, precise and clear, with a generous amount of audible detail. Its resolving character is presented as enjoyable and immediate rather than overly analytical.

Soundstage Imaging

84/100

The reviewer calls the soundstage massive, with good separation and clear placement between elements. Definition is less convincing at the outer edges, where the presentation can become grainier and less clean.

Dynamics

91/100

Descriptions such as fast, agile, exciting and immediate point to a lively, responsive delivery. It is said to make rock, acoustic music, strings and piano especially engaging.

Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.

Comfort Fit

86/100

The supplied pads are described as comfortable, while the light weight helps the headphones sit easily on the head. One reviewer says they can be worn for hours, though another offers only a qualified “maybe” on comfort.

Build Quality

87/100

The available build commentary describes the headphones as solid and built to last, with no concern that they will fall apart. Reviews provide little more specific detail on long-term wear items, joints or cable durability.

Features Usability

80/100

This is a straightforward open-backed wired design, and reviewers emphasize its extremely open presentation. The available coverage says little about cable options, serviceability, accessories or other day-to-day ownership features.

Value for Money

91/100

At around $350, one reviewer explicitly calls it the best Grado for the money. That is strong value praise within the brand’s open-back range, although the supplied reviews offer limited direct comparison with competing models from other makers.

Precision in Aluminum

Few headphones in the Grado lineup carry the recognition of the SR325.

For decades it has been consistently ranked among the best headphones in its price category by leading consumer reporting publications, earning a reputation for clarity, speed, and engaging musical detail.

The SR325 represents a step forward in the Classic Series lineup, pairing the refined X2 driver platform with a precision-machined aluminum housing.

The SR325 uses Grado’s 44mm X2 dynamic driver incorporating a Mylar diaphragm, copper voice coil, and rare earth magnet system engineered for efficiency and control.

The tuning emphasizes articulation and speed, delivering tight bass response, forward midrange clarity, and crisp high-frequency extension.

The SR325 incorporates Grado’s Signature Silver headband assembly developed from the same engineering platform as the Signature Gold system.

The assembly utilizes engraved reinforced polymer gimbals and junction blocks, maintaining the improved geometry and controlled rotation of the Gold platform while reducing weight.

A genuine leather headstrap with contrasting white stitching improves comfort, while the internal steel spring band allows listeners to easily adjust clamping pressure.

The SR325 is supplied with Grado’s Signature Silver cable offering reduced weight and improved flexibility compared with earlier designs.

The SR325 ships standard with Grado F cushions reinforcing its immediate and energetic presentation.

Grado cushions also serve as a tuning element allowing listeners to personalize their listening experience.

The SR325 features a precision-machined aluminum housing designed to reduce unwanted resonance while supporting a fast and controlled presentation.
