What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 95/100
Reviews portray the Sopra N°3 as a highly revealing yet inviting full-range speaker, combining clarity, tonal ease and exceptional scale. It is repeatedly praised for its ability to handle everything from intimate acoustic recordings to dense, high-level rock without losing composure.
Bass
95/100
Reviewers describe bass as deep, rich and remarkably controlled, with solid drum impact and a clear foundation that never turns muddy. It remains composed when tracks become bass-heavy, although one reviewer notes that listeners seeking truly extreme metal-level weight may still want a subwoofer.
Mid
95/100
Vocals are consistently described as clear, smooth, warm and natural, without glare or excessive warmth. Piano, cello and acoustic guitar are singled out for convincing timbre, separation and body.
Treble
92/100
The available listening comments point to a fast, transparent top end, with brushed hi-hats and small percussion details rendered clearly. Reviewers also stress that the speaker remains free of harshness and avoids forcing detail forward aggressively.
Soundstage Imaging
96/100
The Sopra N°3 is praised for a huge, immersive stage with substantial depth extending behind the speakers. Instruments and voices stay distinctly separated even at high volume, while the broad sweet spot makes it particularly well suited to larger listening rooms.
Dynamics
96/100
Dynamics are a major strength, with reviewers calling the speaker outstandingly energetic, fast and convincing with drums and rock music. It can play loudly enough to shake the room while remaining free from audible compression or strain.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
89/100
The Sopra N°3 is a physically substantial 70kg loudspeaker with a serious three-way driver array and dedicated tweeter enclosure. Reviews describe the engineering in detail, including the damped rear chamber for the beryllium tweeter, though they offer less direct comment on long-term finish durability or cabinet workmanship.
Value for Money
94/100
At around $19,999 per pair in the reviewed market, Home Theater Review considered the Sopra N°3 less expensive than several intended rivals and called its performance a bargain. The Ear also recommends it without reservation for buyers with the space, suitable electronics and appetite for a large high-end speaker.

Manufacturer's Description — Focal
3-way floor-standing speaker
Compactness, design and high-fidelity sound are the hallmarks of the Sopra N°3 luxury loudspeaker, which comes close to the ultimate performance of Focal's Utopia loudspeakers. It offers more powerful bass than its little sister, Sopra N°2, with its larger woofers. All music lovers will be seduced by Sopra N°3, which harmoniously deploys the bass.
A concentrate of unrivalled technologies
Equipped with the best midrange ever developed by Focal, with NIC and TMD technologies, Sopra N°3 pushes back the limits of reproduction in terms of sound transparency in a compact loudspeaker. With its 21 cm woofers (instead of 18 cm for Sopra N°2), it delivers even more powerful bass.
Excellence in detail
The deliberately visible decoupling tips were designed for Sopra and manufactured by watchmaking specialists. The Beryllium tweeter is protected by a grille with a lattice pattern. The same pattern is repeated on the back plate of the midrange.
