Benefiting from Focal know-how, the speaker integrates a bass-midrange driver with Iris IP cone and an inverted dome tweeter with "M" profile for high-quality sound reproduction. Thanks to its integrated transformer, OD Stone 8 is capable of covering large spaces without loss of power.

ADAPTED TO ITS ENVIRONMENT

The speaker is IP55 certified for protection against rain and dust intrusion. Its textured ‘rock’ effect finish also features an anti-UV treatment, for even greater adaptation to its environment.

Shaped like a pebble, the outer surface has a textured, rock-like effect, for a unique mineral look. The two finishes - Basalt and Limestone - make this loudspeaker as discreet as it is refined.

Sound Quality

91/100

Bass

90/100

Single 8" Iris IP mid/bass driver delivers punchy, deep bass down to ~45 Hz per the review; reviewers call it 'punchy' and 'more than sufficient for outdoor settings.' Given the single 8" driver and outdoor enclosure, the bass is strong and authoritative for its class but not as powerful as dedicated indoor towers or subs.

Mid

93/100

Multiple review comments praise vocal clarity and immersive, loud presentation. The Iris IP cone and two-way design produce clear, present mids well suited to outdoor listening and voice-forward material.

Treble

91/100

1" aluminium M-shaped tweeter rated to 28 kHz; reviewers note 'crisp highs' and an impressive frequency response to 28 kHz. Treble is detailed and extended without reviewer complaints of harshness.

Soundstage Imaging

89/100

Reviewers describe the speaker as able to 'fill large outdoor spaces' and 'immersive' sound. As an outdoor two-way the imaging and staging are strong in open environments though not as tightly layered as premium indoor monitors.

Dynamics

90/100

Reviewers highlight the ability to play loud and deliver an engaging, punchy performance outdoors. Dynamics are lively with good macro impact for outdoor use; no listener reports of the speaker 'running out of steam.'
