This active bass-reflex speaker offers high-quality sound, the latest wireless technologies, and extensive connectivity for exceptional listening experiences. Whether it's music, movies, or video games, it revolutionises home listening and frees you from all constraints. With DIVA UTOPIA and its unique design, simply plug in, connect, and enjoy the pure sound of Focal.
EASE OF USE, HIGH RESOLUTION
DIVA UTOPIA is easy to install and use, with no wires connecting the speakers. Thanks to Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology, the sound quality is exceptional, surpassing CD standards by delivering studio-grade sound at 192kHz/24bits. For added convenience, the speaker can be controlled via the Focal & Naim app, a remote control, and voice assistants such as Google Assistant and Siri.
A DESIGN ICON
A true acoustic masterpiece, DIVA UTOPIA combines sophisticated materials with an open design. The Utopia codes are visually represented by the tweeter's dual red and black grille and the ‘ribbon’ surrounding the tweeter in a yin-yang formation, symbolising the harmony of craftsmanship and technology. This creates a distinctive and symbolic "signature watch."
UNIQUE PANELLING
The side panels are designed to be both floating and removable, adding a versatile element to the speaker. They are crafted from felt, an OEKO-TEX®-certified material known for its durability and aesthetic appeal. These panels feature refined lines and include a signature opening in the front to elegantly house the backlit Focal logo. Positioned behind the panels, the bass speakers are subtly integrated on the sides, enhancing the overall sound diffusion.
EXCEPTIONAL FINISHES
In addition to felt, lacquered finishes are available as an option. The depth and timelessness of black is embodied in Black High Gloss, while Dune High Gloss illuminates interiors with its silver and gold highlights, and Off White High Gloss stands out for the silky sheen of its off-white hue. The colours are enhanced by a varnish meticulously applied by our craftsmen in our workshops.
FOCAL AND NAIM APPLICATION
Our dedicated app provides seamless control over your Focal and Naim products and is readily available for download on the App Store and Google Play Store. With the app, you can effortlessly access numerous streaming services, radio stations, and podcasts for a diverse listening experience.
Behind the project
The result of five years of intense development, DIVA UTOPIA is the realisation of a long-held dream for the Focal teams. A series of three videos highlight the key moments of its creation.

The Diva Utopia delivers room-filling, controlled low end with crystal-clear highs — a truly full-range active design that combines Focal drivers with Naim electronics. Reviews like Craig Chase note its studio‑grade clarity, app ADAPT tuning and broad connectivity. Expect deep bass, airy treble and active amplification that make separates unnecessary for many listeners.
Pros
- Powerful, full-range bass extension with tight control that often removes the need for a subwoofer.
- Neutral, highly resolving midrange and treble from the IAL2 beryllium tweeter and 'W' cone mid — low distortion and precise imaging.
- All-in-one Naim Class‑AB amplification, extensive inputs and the ADAPT app make setup, streaming and room tuning straightforward.
&
Cons
- High asking price places it firmly in ultra‑high‑end territory, limiting accessibility.
- Wireless inter‑speaker link tops out at 24/96kHz; a wired Hi‑Res Link is required for 24/192kHz operation.
- ADAPT room correction can reduce some low‑level dynamic expression; several reviewers preferred listening without EQ.
Sound Quality

Bass
96/100
Multiple reviewers measured or described authoritative, deep extension (claims to ~20 Hz, -6dB ~24Hz). The four 6.5" woofers in push-push and ground-radiation vent deliver tight, controlled low end with little chuffing or compression even at high SPLs (HomeTheaterHifi, What Hi‑Fi, HiFi News). Excellent sub-bass authority for a driver size and cabinet design.
Mid
94/100
Consistently praised for clarity, natural timbre and vocal presence (Florence Welch cited across reviews). Reviewers note textured, convincing midrange with low distortion and strong coherence through the crossover (Audiophilepure, What Hi‑Fi, HiFi News).
Treble
92/100
Beryllium 'M' inverted-dome tweeter yields extended, low-distortion highs with smooth balance and controlled directivity; reviewers report air and detail without harshness (HomeTheaterHifi, The Absolute Sound, What Hi‑Fi). Very refined, occasional edgy recording revealed source issue rather than brightness.
Soundstage Imaging
93/100
Multiple accounts of wide, immersive 3D staging with stable imaging and good off‑axis behaviour; instruments are well layered and focused across the virtual stage (HomeTheaterHifi, The Absolute Sound, HiFi News). Works well when toe-in is optimized.
Dynamics
90/100
Macro- and micro-dynamics are excellent thanks to active crossovers and Class AB amplification; reviewers note strong transient attack and headroom (HomeTheaterHifi, The Absolute Sound, HiFi News). Some listeners find the overall presentation deliberately refined and slightly restrained versus hyper-aggressive slam, and EQ modes can reduce low‑level drive (What Hi‑Fi).

Build Quality
92/100
High-density moulded polymer cabinets with careful internal engineering, castors, spikes and well-damped structure; finish and construction repeatedly described as solid and refined (ecoustics, HiFi News, What Hi‑Fi). Attention to driver chambers and bracing noted.
Features Connectivity
93/100
Comprehensive modern feature set: HDMI eARC, USB, Toslink, Ethernet, Wi‑Fi6, aptX Adaptive, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, voice assistants and a full Naim/Focal streaming stack with room correction and UWB inter-speaker link. Wireless link is very capable but limited to 96kHz; wired Hi-Res Link supports higher sample rates (Audioholics, ecoustics, HiFi News).
Value for Money
78/100
Sits at $39,999/pair; reviewers acknowledge class-leading integrated performance that can replace a separates system of comparable combined cost, but the price remains a major hurdle for most buyers (The Absolute Sound, ecoustics, What Hi‑Fi). Strong performance-for-price within ultra‑high-end context but expensive.
