5.25-inch “Continuum” composite fiber woofer Delivering deep and powerful bass

The SP5 features a 5.25-inch woofer with a cone made from a similar “Continuum” composite fiber material as used in the legendary B&W 700 series. To deliver incredible sound in larger spaces, we’ve carefully refined every detail of the driver, from the cone material, to the magnetic circuit system, driver suspension design and even the voice coil.

This meticulous engineering provides outstanding rigidity and control, allowing the SP5 to handle intense, dynamic music without a hint of distortion. The result is deep and powerful bass for a rich, full-bodied sound that is also tight and responsive. Every last detail is reproduced both accurately and impactfully.

1-inch composite silk soft dome tweeter For clear and smooth treble

The SP5 tweeter isn’t just made from premium materials—it’s also acoustically engineered to perfection. FIIO’s development team innovatively designed a soft, hemispherical structure inside the dome, which precisely absorbs the harmful harmonics from the back of the diaphragm. The result is significantly purer and more transparent treble. To achieve the high-end Hi-Fi goals of low resonance and high power handling, the SP5 features a groundbreaking large rear cavity design. This innovative design allows the high frequencies to go down to an impressive 800Hz. It also makes sure the driver can release pressure even at frequencies above 20kHz, which dramatically reduces unwanted resonance.

The SP5 tweeter uses a precisely engineered waveguide to optimize near-field listening. It precisely controls the sound's direction, and together with the horizontal stripes on the front, greatly expands the soundstage.

FIIO’s self-developed, high-power switching power supply delivers a robust 120W of power to each SP5 speaker. These ample power reserves allow the speakers to handle any kind of dynamic music with ease, while universal voltage support lets you take your speakers anywhere.

A clean power supply is essential for true high-fidelity sound. The SP5 uses a multi-stage rectification and filtering architecture to independently power the output stage, significantly reducing interference. A revolutionary transformer resonance system is used to convert a single power source into a dual-symmetrical power supply - providing clean, stable energy to the critical front-end circuitry. This design eliminates DC-DC noise pollution at the source, resulting in an excellent signal-to-noise ratio and a darker background with clearer details.

The Smart Power-Saving Mode* is thoughtfully designed for energy efficiency, with extremely low standby power consumption. The speakers instantly wake up the moment music starts playing, always ready to deliver stunning sound.

The SP5 main and secondary speakers each contain a renowned Texas Instruments (TI) TPA3116D2 Class D stereo digital amplifier, independently driving each channel. The amplifiers allow for the woofers to output power up to 60W*2, and the tweeter to output up to 20W*2.

The TPA3116D2 is also built for reliability, with built-in protection against short circuits, overheating, and voltage fluctuations. If an overload occurs, it alerts the processor, keeping itself from being damaged.

XLR balanced input

Pro audio DNA

The XLR balanced interface is common in professional audio equipment. Compared to standard RCA jacks, its main advantage is strong resistance to interference, making it ideal for long-distance transmission while providing a higher-quality audio signal.

The SP5 features a professional-grade XLR balanced input. It uses three-pin differential transmission, which sends hot (+) and cold (-) signals simultaneously. The dedicated ground wire blocks outside interference, which cancels out over 90% of common-mode noise. This completely eliminates noise even when transmitting signals over long distances.

*When the main speaker is using XLR input, the secondary speaker can only utilize XLR input. *RCA audio cables are not required when using XLR input.

The SP5 uses the high-precision, low-noise NJW1195A electronic volume control, one in each speaker. This volume control features resistor-ladder electronic potentiometer with little imbalance and low output noise at just -118dBV typ. (1.26µVrms). It also boasts an ultra-low distortion rate of just 0.0003%. The wide volume range of +31.5dB to -95dB can be adjusted in fine 0.5Db steps, allowing for precise volume control.

By using a chip typically found in high-end headphone amplifiers and combining it with meticulously tuned circuitry, the SP5 achieves a signal-to-noise ratio of 100dB.

The SP5 can wirelessly transmit audio at up to 990kbps, allowing you to enjoy richly detailed wireless sound. Thanks to its high-resolution capabilities and support for LDAC, it has earned both Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Wireless Audio certifications.

Traditional 5.25-inch passive speakers often struggle to produce sound below 55Hz. The bass extension feature overcomes this limitation by using technology to push beyond the physical boundaries of the hardware. A special circuit extends the low-frequency response, giving you stronger bass impact, faster transients, and a deeper soundstage – overall resulting in richer, deeper, and more layered bass.

When listening to music, you can select how low the bass extension should go to suit various genres of music. For movies and gaming, the bass extension can enhance the impact of the bass for further immersion.

0dB/+3dB/+6dB bass adjustment

The bass boost function strengthens frequencies below 100Hz for richer, more impactful bass. It can also be used to reduce the interference of room-based standing waves, balancing the tone. At the same time, this feature can solve the issue of muddy bass in small rooms and also provide the powerful sound required for larger spaces.
