Pros
Warm, detailed midrange with convincing vocal weight, natural timbre and strong instrument definition.
Dynamic, textured bass provides satisfying slam and warmth without dominating for most reviewers.
Exceptionally complete package, including tuning filters, numerous tip options, protective case and modular 3.5mm/4.4mm cable terminations.
Comfortable CNC-machined shells and a spacious, accurately imaged semi-open sound.
Cons
Semi-open construction offers below-average passive isolation and allows sound leakage, limiting suitability for noisy travel.
Elevated mid-bass can bleed into the lower mids, making male vocals sound overly warm or bloated on some recordings.
Treble can become sibilant or fatiguing on a small number of bright recordings.

What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 87/100
The FH7S is widely described as a warm, fun and technically capable IEM, combining substantial bass with clear, musical mids and a smooth but energetic top end. Its main sonic trade-off is a mid-bass/lower-mid fullness that some reviewers found less clean and natural than the otherwise strong technical performance suggests.
Bass
85/100
Reviewers praise the bass for its weight, slam, speed, texture and dynamic impact, with good sub-bass depth and distinct notes. However, Giz Audio found that the mid-bass bleeds into the lower mids and can create bloat, while ecoustics also notes a mild low-end elevation.
Midrange
86/100
ecoustics heard unusually clear lower mids, weighty and natural male vocals, and convincing piano and violin timbre. Other reviewers similarly enjoyed the smooth, detailed and musical presentation, though the bass-rich tuning can make male vocals warmer or boomier than neutral.
Treble
89/100
The treble is generally regarded as extended, detailed and airy without being aggressively forward. ecoustics found the lower-treble lift well judged and non-sibilant on most material, although Giz Audio noted occasional sibilance or fatigue on a small number of tracks.
Resolution Separation
88/100
Reviewers consistently find good detail retrieval, clarity and separation, particularly through the midrange. It is not presented as an ultra-analytical monitor focused on microcontrast, but its resolving ability is considered strong for its price.
Soundstage Imaging
89/100
The semi-open presentation earns repeated praise for air, space and an expansive stage that can feel unusually large for an IEM. Imaging and stereo separation are strong, though ecoustics describes the overall width and depth as more average and intimate than the most enthusiastic accounts, while Giz Audio calls imaging merely adequate.
Dynamics Coherence
88/100
Several reviewers highlight lively dynamics, emotional engagement and strong low-end impact. The warm, full-bodied tuning is generally cohesive and enjoyable, but the reported bass-to-lower-mid bloom prevents it from sounding consistently clean on every recording.
FIT COMFORT ISOLATION PERFORMANCE 85/100
Despite its relatively large, angular shells, reviewers generally found the FH7S comfortable and easy to fit with the right tips. Its semi-open design makes it a poor choice when high passive noise reduction is a priority, and the generous included tip selection is useful for tailoring fit and sound.
Seal Stability
88/100
Reviewers report achieving a very good seal with the FH7S, particularly with the thin HS18 tips and supplied SpinFits. The HS18 tips are not equally forgiving for every listener, so tip selection remains important for obtaining the preferred fit and tonal balance.
Comfort
89/100
The shells initially appear large, but ecoustics found their shape and moderately angled nozzles comfortable in practice. Both PortaFi reviews also found the inner shell shape comfortable despite the industrial exterior and sharp visual styling.
Isolation
73/100
The semi-open, vented construction provides below-average passive isolation and allows sound leakage in both directions. Reviewers do not consider it fully open, but it is less suited to loud commutes, travel, or situations requiring strong isolation.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Accessories
91/100
Reviewers praise the CNC-machined aluminum shells, high-standard finish and substantial accessory package. The kit includes multiple tuning filters and a genuinely broad range of tips, including HS18, SpinFit, foam, bi-flange, bass, balanced and vocal options, making the inclusions useful rather than merely decorative.
Value for Money
89/100
At around $400, ecoustics considers the FH7S among the stronger performers in the $400–$500 IEM market and praises an accessory kit competitors may charge extra for. Enjoy The Music also calls FiiO highly competitive on value, although Giz Audio argues that cleaner bass tuning would make it more clearly competitive at this price.

With 1 Dynamic and 4 BAs The 7 is worth the wait
01. FH7S channels the essence of the FH9, but tailor-made for a 4 BA design 02. Featuring the 2nd-gen FiiO-developed 13.6mm DLC dynamic driver 03. Mid frequencies are handled by DFK driver customized by FiiO and Knowles, for exquisite vocals 04. Treble is provided by SWFK-31736 BA, with an airy and highly resolving sound
Democratization of cutting-edge technology Large 13.6mm DLC dynamic driver
The FH7S is equipped with the same dynamic driver as in the FH9, the 2nd-gen FiiO-developed large 13.6mm DLC driver. The large 13.6mm diaphragm allows the driver to easily produce more energy for better extended bass – resulting in robust yet natural-sounding low frequencies.
The diaphragm of the FH7S dynamic driver is made of DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon). Due to its highly damped nature, high rigidity, and light weight the dynamic driver is capable of rapid transient response – further adding to the sensation of dynamic bass that you will truly remember.
Experience captivating vocals 4 exclusively customized Knowles BA drivers
FiiO and Knowles collaborated to create the exclusively customized DFK mid-frequency BA drivers for the FH7S - with the goal of creating natural, musical vocals by greatly refining the mids. By adjusting the air permeability of the midrange drivers, it leads to a more natural, distinctive and smoother connection between bass, mids and highs. Meanwhile, vocals are clearer and more captivating with just-right richness.
The high frequencies are produced by the Knowles SWFK-31736 BA driver with its high resonant frequency. The driver contains richer highs details and airiness while also helping to further enhance the size of the soundstage, which is relaxed and comfortable to listen to.
Sci-Fi armor design Pure comfort inside and out
The FH7S features a design resembling that of armor seen in sci-fi, futuristic weaponry and machinery. On the faceplate of the FH7S lie neat layers of carefully-placed holes stacked upon each other that form its semi-open design. These are combined with silver and gold trim as well as air guide nets for a meticulous balance between form and function. Finally, the FH7S still retains an overall rounded shape that perfectly fits the human ear for comfortable extended listening sessions.
The music stage simply right in front of you 2nd-gen semi-open design
The FH7S employs FiiO’s 2nd-gen semi-open design to accurately reproduce the soundstage of your music. This semi-open design incorporates FiiO’s system of balanced pressure relief between the front and rear cavities. The result is that when the drivers push air when making sound, that air encounters less resistance - resulting in a smoother yet detailed sound, natural timbre, large soundstage, and pinpoint accurate imaging. The semi-open design also greatly reduces pressure on your eardrums, allowing you to listen longer without getting fatigued – like as if you were at the concert stage without any earphones on!
Eliminate sibilance and restore the beauty of vocals Unique notch filter technology
Using finite element analysis and after numerous experiments, the development team created a unique notch filter for the FH7S. The notch filter precisely guides sound waves to eliminate unwanted resonances between the shell, sound tube, and ear canal to suppress undesirable sibilance - resulting in a detailed, transparent yet unfatiguing sound.
Luxuriously configured for fully covered bass Patented S.TURBO acoustic design
The FiiO FH7S features the patented S.TURBO acoustic design*, which allows for deep bass that maintains plenty of nuance and texture. Sound waves are carefully guided through a turbine-shaped tube to enhance bass frequencies so that sounds like the beating of drums are appropriately thunderous and bold. * Patent Number: ZL2018211416279
Comfort from 0.4mm Debuting the all-new FiiO HS18 silicone ear tips
The FH7S is the first to debut FiiO’s all new HS18 silicone ear tips. Thanks to the impressive efforts of the development engineers, the surface that touches the ears is only 0.4mm thick, allowing for better comfort and seal. These new ear tips feature a large opening, same as the size of the FH7S sound tube, to minimize sound barriers between the earphone and the eardrum – which reduces high frequency loss and further enhances resolution.
Widely compatible Twist-lock swappable audio plugs New to the FH7S, compared to the FH7, are twist-lock swappable audio plugs allowing you to easily change between 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced plugs as needed. Step into the colorful world of different sounds of different audio sources! * Interchangeable audio jack is officially licensed from the patent by FABRILOUS.
Cable upgraded for a new sound experience 8 strands totaling 152 wires of silver-plated monocrystalline copper
The FH7S comes standard with cable consisting of 8 strands of 19 wires each – for a total of 152 wires of silver-plated monocrystalline copper all individually isolated from each other. The Litz braiding of the wires means that the larger surface area leads to less resistance in the wires by minimizing the skin effect and proximity effect – leading to improved signal transmission efficiency and better resolution.
New interchangeable plug
Notes: FIIO earphones include either the new or old interchange plug. The difference lies solely in the craftsmanship, materials, and structural design of the plug, with no difference in the cable wires. Both versions are genuine. Please refer to the actual item received. Thank you for your understanding.
