Enleum AMP-23R

Multiple reviewers call the AMP-23R transparent, highly resolving and exceptionally clean, with fine detail, separation and spatial information emerging without congestion. Golden Sound heard crystal-clear leading edges and decay even in dense arrangements, while Audiophilepure praised its effortless portrayal of tiny recorded nuances.

The prevailing description is rich, natural and organic rather than clinical, with fluid vocals, controlled warmth and a touch of sweetness. Some reviewers heard a slightly dark treble balance or elevated bass weight, while two YouTube reviewers found the midrange less textured, recessed or somewhat nasal with selected headphones.

Dynamics are one of the AMP-23R's most repeatedly celebrated strengths: reviewers describe superb timing, lightning-fast transient tracking, punch and unusually lifelike shifts in intensity. It is said to retain composure and authority with drum-heavy music and demanding headphone material, delivering both microdynamic nuance and physical slam.

Reviews repeatedly describe a remarkably quiet or black background, including Part Time Audiophile's report of vanishingly low noise and Audiokey's praise for black-quiet staging. Direct evidence with ultra-sensitive IEMs is limited, but headphone reviewers consistently heard clean silence rather than hiss or hum.

The direct-to-output-stage headphone section is widely reported to drive difficult headphones with ease, including HIFIMAN Susvara, Abyss 1266, Audeze LCD-5 and Sennheiser HD650. Its four-watt output and strong headroom make it especially compelling for demanding full-size headphones, although reviews provide little evidence about sensitive IEM use or fine low-volume gain control.

Construction receives unusually consistent praise, with reviewers citing superb machining, precise assembly, dense metalwork and a compact but substantial chassis. The relay-stepped volume implementation and metal remote also feel upscale, though the stepped control can produce subtle speaker pops during adjustment.

The AMP-23R is a deliberately minimalist integrated and headphone amplifier, with two RCA inputs, proprietary Enlink BNC inputs, speaker terminals, a 6.35 mm headphone socket and remote control. Its direct-output headphone architecture and automatic speaker muting are useful, but there are no balanced connections, DAC, conventional preamp outputs or broad digital facilities.

At roughly $6,250, reviewers acknowledge that the AMP-23R is expensive, and MajorHifi calls the entry price very high. However, several reviews argue that its performance justifies the outlay: Soundnews says it is worth it, Part Time Audiophile finds few sub-$10,000 solid-state alternatives as rich and clear, and TONEAudio places it alongside far more expensive equipment.
