ELAC RS700

The review finds the RS700 notably clean and authoritative, with strong low-frequency extension, good midbass articulation, and respectable note-to-note definition. It is described as more forceful at the bottom end than the comparison subwoofer while retaining composure when played louder.

The reviewer says it “integrated well” and repeatedly praises its natural, unobtrusive behavior in the system. It is described as delivering clean output while “never drawing attention to itself,” with the reviewer calling integration excellent.

The RS700 is praised for great dynamics, a sense of scale, and low-end output that remains composed at louder volumes. The reviewer also found it slightly quicker than the comparison model, with better note distinction and respectable transient response.

The cabinet receives direct praise for its substantial 35 mm thickness, which the reviewer characterizes as evidence that ELAC has not cut corners. The review presents the enclosure as unusually robust for a subwoofer of this type.

Automatic room correction and app control provide a broad set of practical setup tools. The app allows adjustment of gain, phase, delay, crossover settings, LED brightness, and user-defined presets, making fine-tuning straightforward from a phone.

The review identifies a $1,599 direct price and notes that some retailers offer it for about $100 less. It does not directly compare the RS700’s value with similarly priced competitors, but its strongly favorable performance comments support the view that the asking price is reasonable for its class.
