Pros
Wide, high and deep imaging gives music an unusually room-filling, three-dimensional scale for such a compact speaker.
JET 6 tweeter delivers fast, precise and detailed highs without fatigue at high listening levels.
Clean, controlled bass reaches impressively low for the cabinet size, with measured output into the mid-40Hz range.
High-rigidity aluminum enclosure is exceptionally well finished and minimizes audible cabinet resonance.
Cons
Rear port and narrow, deep cabinet need careful placement with breathing room from the rear wall.
The 4-ohm load benefits from a capable amplifier, making it less suitable for every receiver or low-powered setup.
Deepest bass effects remain beyond the small woofer’s reach; larger rooms or bass-heavy material may benefit from a subwoofer.

What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 92/100
Reviewers find the BS312.2 unusually full-scale and refined for such a compact loudspeaker, combining clean low end, lucid vocals and a highly resolved top end. Its particularly spacious, three-dimensional presentation and composed high-volume performance make it well suited to close listening as well as small-room use.
Bass
89/100
For a speaker using a 115 mm woofer, reviewers found the bass impressively extended, controlled and punchy. Measurements cited clean output into the mid-40 Hz region, while HiFi.nl notes that the very deepest thumps and low oil-drum tones remain beyond its reach.
Mid
93/100
The midrange is repeatedly praised for clarity, depth and strong integration with the rest of the frequency range. HiFi.nl found voices clear, separated and intelligible, while Future Audiophile highlighted a steady, full presentation through the midband.
Treble
93/100
The JET 6 tweeter is described as exceptionally fast, precise and detailed, with warmth and control rather than fatigue or harshness. HiFi.nl did hear a touch of brightness at times, but regarded it as an expression of the speaker's clarity and transparency rather than a serious flaw.
Soundstage Imaging
95/100
Spatial performance is a standout: reviews describe a wide, high and deep stage with clearly placed details and convincing layers. Music is said to detach naturally from the compact cabinets, and Lite MAGAZIN found the result room-filling, three-dimensional and musically coherent.
Dynamics
91/100
The BS312.2 handles shifts from quiet passages to forceful musical peaks with confidence. Future Audiophile reports explosive but controlled volume capability, while HiFi.nl found that soft and powerful passages alike were reproduced without strain.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
94/100
The aluminum enclosure, deep gloss finish and substantial 7 kg-plus mass make a strong impression in the reviews. Lite MAGAZIN praises the cabinet's rigidity and freedom from audible resonance, while Alpha Audio highlights the quality of the paintwork and handmade crossover.
Value for Money
91/100
At around €1,798 to €2,099 per pair depending on finish and market, the BS312.2 commands a premium over ELAC's more affordable Carina bookshelf model. Still, Lite MAGAZIN rates its value very highly, and Future Audiophile calls the pricing spot-on for buyers wanting a serious compact speaker below ELAC's Vela and Concentro ranges.
