Concentro 2.0 Floorstanding Speaker

The Concentro 2.0 cannot be mistaken for any other speaker, featuring a complex base machined from a single block of aluminum and weighing more than 55 pounds.

The aluminium sandwich woofers in a push-push/pull-pull arrangement are characterized by high internal damping (cardboard cone) and high torsional rigidity (aluminium dome) and deliver an enormous but controlled bass down to the deepest subsonic range. Oval side panels made of solid wood, laminated with carbon fiber or leather, frame two side-firing 250 mm woofers on each side of the cabinet.

The Concentro 2.0 is designed for top-tier performance, minimizing standing waves and resonances through its solid construction and thick MDF cabinet walls. Its carefully engineered design eliminates parallel surfaces that could foster unwanted vibrations. Additionally, the mid-tweeter, bass-midrange, and woofer are housed in separate chambers, ensuring acoustic decoupling and enhancing the cabinets overall stability.

The acclaimed coaxial chassis, consisting of a midrange ring radiator and a JET tweeter arranged coaxially and coplanar with it, is a central component of the Concentros impressive sound. The special feature of this chassis is its adaptability, hence the name VX-JET (Variable X-JET). As no two rooms are the same and the same speaker sounds different in different rooms, the adjustment mechanism on the rear of the Concentro allows the sound dispersion plane to be continuously adjusted 8 mm in front of and 8 mm behind the neutral position. This allows the sound dispersion angle to be adapted to any spatial situation.

Based on ELAC’s Aluminum-Sandwich AS Technology. Resembling the surface of a large crystal, the aluminum-foil stamping stiffens the aluminum dome, diminishing resonances and minimizing coloration, while improving power handling and dynamics. The voice coil design of the drivers results in an expanded frequency range, and driver surround allows for longer cone excursions for truly prodigious volume and lowest distortion, a unique engineering achievement for a driver of its size.
