Pros
Warm, balanced tuning combines controlled, substantial bass with clear detail and distinct vocal separation.
Genuinely comfortable for extended sessions, with soft pads and a secure, sensible clamp.
Effective ANC, customizable app EQ, multipoint connectivity and excellent value at its price.
Cons
Upper-midrange/lower-treble emphasis can add a slight edge to vocals and piano unless adjusted with EQ.
Soundstage is respectable but not especially expansive by closed-back standards; Dynamic mode can make bass less controlled.

What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 86/100
Reviewers find the WH950NB warm, balanced and engaging, with controlled bass, clear detail and a pleasantly open presentation for a closed-back wireless design. Its main sonic caveat is a touch of upper-mid/lower-treble edge, while the bass can turn boomy in the more emphatic sound mode.
Bass
88/100
Bass is slightly elevated but generally controlled, substantial and not overly boomy, even on demanding bass-heavy tracks. The Dynamic mode can make low organ notes sound mushy and closed-in, whereas the Classic mode restores better balance.
Midrange
86/100
Vocals are somewhat forward but not excessively so, and reviewers describe voices as expressive, engaging and clearly separated in harmonies. Theatre mode adds midrange weight and depth for film soundtracks.
Treble
82/100
Highs are described as clear, with violins retaining their clarity and acoustic guitars offering crisp shimmer. However, one reviewer heard upper-mid/lower-treble emphasis that can add excitement but also introduce a slightly unpleasant edge without EQ.
Resolution Detail
89/100
The headphones reveal crisp guitar texture, distinct vocal lines and small ambient details such as insects, twigs and spatial distance in field recordings. Wired, amplified listening was said to improve detail, fullness and balance further over Bluetooth.
Soundstage Imaging
84/100
The WH950NB can preserve convincing depth and width in ambient recordings, and keeps layered voices distinct within a wide space. Another reviewer found the stage only modest by closed-back standards, though instruments spread well and do not feel notably confined.
Dynamics
88/100
A reviewer praised the headphones' ability to convey both delicate material and the large shifts of a passing thunderstorm recording. This suggests a presentation with convincing contrast rather than a flattened or purely relaxed character.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Comfort Fit
91/100
Comfort is a clear strength: reviewers describe the pads as genuinely soft, with a secure but sensible clamp. One reviewer found the headphones light-feeling and embracing enough for long listening sessions.
Build Quality
75/100
The reviews praise the soft leather-and-memory-foam pad treatment, but provide little direct information about long-term durability, hinges, cable hardware or structural robustness. There is not enough reviewer commentary to make stronger claims about construction.
Features Usability
89/100
Useful wireless conveniences include multipoint connection, app-based sound adjustment and several listening modes. Reviewers also report that the noise-cancelling settings do not audibly compromise music playback, while call quality is excellent.
Value for Money
94/100
At $179.99, reviewers call the WH950NB fantastic for the price and a terrific value. One reviewer felt Sony alternatives sounded somewhat better, but not enough better to justify roughly twice the spend; another said the Edifier competes with noise-cancelling models costing $200 to $300 more.
