What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 82/100
The W820NB is described as a pleasantly balanced and musical budget ANC headphone rather than a high-fidelity reference model. Its warm, clear mids and punchy bass are strengths, while the softened treble and limited instrument separation hold back its sense of refinement.
Bass
87/100
Bass is lightly emphasized rather than overblown, avoiding the heavy low-end tuning common in affordable ANC headphones. The reviewer notes some sub-bass rumble alongside a nicely punchy mid-bass response.
Midrange
88/100
The midrange is praised for being full-bodied and warm without turning muddy or veiled. Male and female vocals are said to sound pleasing, with good clarity retained through the range.
Treble
80/100
Treble is subdued and laid-back, with rounded note edges rather than sharp attack. This should make the presentation easygoing, though it sacrifices some sparkle and incisiveness.
Resolution Detail
79/100
Clarity is considered good for the price, helping the headphone deliver an engaging and musical sound. Instrument separation is specifically identified as a limitation, so dense recordings may not sound especially layered.
Soundstage Imaging
82/100
The sound is described as reasonably spacious for a budget ANC design. It avoids the cloudy, compressed presentation the reviewer associates with many similarly priced alternatives, though there is little detailed discussion of imaging precision.
Dynamics
75/100
The punchy mid-bass suggests welcome rhythmic energy, but the review offers little direct comment on large-scale impact or subtle dynamic shifts. Its presentation is characterized more as musical and balanced than especially explosive.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Comfort Fit
87/100
The reviewer finds the W820NB comfortably fitted, highlighting the memory-foam earpads and their effective seal. The pads are said to conform well to the head, supporting a secure and pleasant fit.
Build Quality
85/100
Construction is entirely plastic, including the sliders, but the reviewer reports no creaking and calls the material strong and robust. The matte finish is also praised for resisting fingerprints.
Features Usability
92/100
Battery life is a major practical strength, quoted at roughly 29 hours with ANC enabled and 49 hours without it, with a fast 1.5-hour USB-C charge. The ANC is especially effective against steady noises such as fans, motors, buses and trains, while microphone quality is described as clear and loud.
Value for Money
94/100
At the reviewed street price of roughly $55, the W820NB is described as very impressive. The reviewer considers its sound, effective ANC and long battery life unusually compelling at this budget level.
