The new E.A.T. C-Dur comes classy with a very clean, but elegant look. With it s either high gloss plum, but still an eye-catcher in every living room. Our idea was to bring the concept of the E.A.T. Forte in a more compact format. The result is a similar smooth movement without any rumble, which ensures a superior sound quality. This differentiates E.A.T. drives from the rest of the analog world.

Bearing Construction

The heavyweight 5,2 kg aluminium platter sits on a full aluminium 900 g resonance-free sub platter. The massive inverted main bearing guarantees a silent playback with accurate speeds. The mass loaded 1,8 kg bearing block uses a polished stainless-steel spindle with a ceramic ball on the top. A ceramic ball is used on the top because it is very hard and inert. This, in combination with a Teflon plate as a bearing mirror, is also a good damping device. Teflon s accurate satin surface produces perfectly smooth movement without any rumble

Tonearm

The 10" carbon E.A.T. C-Note tonearm is not only an optical statement, it s a well though-out precision instrument. It combines all advantages of an unipivot arm with a cardan design. The uni-pivot in the middle only helps bearing to be less loaded. The traditional Cardan bearing insures high stability and easiness of use with very low friction. Also, inside the tonearm is a special silicon-based grease to damp the tonearm / cartridge resonances by more than 50%. The carbon tube offers the required stiffness, while the aluminium headshell convinces with its damping of resonances – a perfect match! A semi-balanced 5P DIN to RCA cable is included in the delivery. Simply upgrade to a balanced phono cable and benefit from a fully balanced signal transmission.

Motor

The ultra low noise motor of the new E.A.T. C-Dur is isolated and placed into a steel ring which is then mounted in the chassis. An external DC power supply unit with an AC generator creates a total clean power for the motor. A special anti-static polished rubber belt connects the motor with the aluminium sub platter. Easily change speeds with the electronic speed control on the top plate. Place a record on the platter and set the correct speed with a push of a button.

Feet

The EAT C Dur is effectively decoupled from its surface by its feet. The three height adjustable damped aluminium feet guarantee the perfect stand & massively reduce risk of acoustical feedback. The feet are able to absorb energy with its TPE (Termoplastic Elastomers) insert.

Rating for C-Dur Turntable

Value for Money

93/100

With a huge, seamless soundstage and a notably relaxed, fluid presentation, the C-Dur turns vocals and piano into its calling card. HiFi News and Audiophilepure both highlight its refined, near-reference performance, while the heavyweight plinth and precise speed stability add real high-end credibility.

What Reviewers Are Saying

"proficiencies so close to decks at twice the price that it is now my reference in the £3000-£5000 sector."

Audiophilepure

Pros

Delivers a spacious, open soundstage with crisp transients and a smooth, non-edgy tonal balance.

Excels with vocals and piano, rendering both with exceptional clarity, detail, and natural flow.

Impressive build and visual presence, with reviewers praising its minimalist luxury and substantial feel.

Strong value in its class, with review comments placing it close to far more expensive decks.

&

Cons

The anti-skating setup is fiddly and requires care during installation.

As a non-suspended design, it benefits from careful placement away from loudspeakers to avoid microphonic effects.

Its purist approach means fewer convenience features than more lifestyle-focused turntables.

SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 92/100

Reviewers rave about an open, fluid, and highly natural presentation, with crisp transients, extended treble, and a huge, seamless soundstage. The C-Dur is repeatedly praised for making voice and piano sound especially convincing, and one reviewer says it comes very close to decks at twice the price.

Overall Sound

97/100

The sound is described as uncannily soothing, inviting, and free of edginess, with crisp transients and extended treble. Reviewers highlight excellent detail retrieval, fluidity, and a cavernous, seamless soundstage, especially with voice and piano.

Speed Stability

90/100

One reviewer measured the deck reaching correct speed quickly and consistently, noting it was on target within a few seconds across different record weights. The supplied specs also indicate very low wow and flutter, and nothing in the reviews suggests audible speed problems.

Tonearm Performance

92/100

The included arm is not dissected in technical detail, but the deck is praised for communicating delicate vocals and piano with precision and fluidity, which points to strong arm execution. Reviewers do not report tracking issues or setup frustrations.

Noise Isolation

88/100

The deck is not described as noisy, and the presentation is repeatedly called smooth and free of aggression. One reviewer does caution that, as a non-suspended design, it should be placed carefully away from loudspeakers for best results, so isolation looks good but not bulletproof.

Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.

Build Quality

93/100

Reviewers are impressed by the physical presentation, calling it one of the best-looking minimalist turntables they have seen at the price. The oversized platter and substantial 15.6 kg mass reinforce the sense of a serious, well-made deck, though the reviews focus more on impression and execution than long-term durability.

Features Usability

84/100

This is a fairly purist design, so reviewers do not dwell on convenience extras. The available evidence suggests straightforward use with a supplied arm and easy speed switching, but there is little mention of built-in phono stages, auto functions, USB, or other ownership conveniences.

Value for Money

93/100

The C-Dur is repeatedly positioned as a serious contender well above its asking price, with one reviewer calling it a reference in the £3000-£5000 sector and another noting it performs close to decks at twice the price. At around £3500 with arm, reviewers clearly see it as a compelling buy in its class.
