Dr. Feickert Analogue Straight-12
The Story behind
You can refine something good and turn it into something even better. Since, for most analog enthusiasts, the 12-inch tonearm represents the holy grail of vinyl playback, we wanted to approach the topic with the same basic idea and adapt the existing Straight-10 design accordingly...
The development
It was surprisingly easier than we expected—which is always a good sign that the basic design is well thought out and effective. The necessary modifications were minimal, and the result won us over right away. That’s also why our 12-inch model was ready for production after such a relatively short time. All the adjustment options found on the Straight-10 are also available on its big brother.
The Sound
is completely neutral, just like the Straight-10. The difference here is that you get to enjoy the lowest possible geometric tracking distortion from a traditional gimbal tonearm design. And since we were able to avoid any “voodoo” or fancy materials here as well, the price remains virtually unbeatable—without having to compromise on sound quality in any way…
