SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 92/100
Bass
93/100
Specification shows 25 Hz claimed extension, large cabinet dimensions and 254 lb per speaker — consistent with deep, authoritative low end for a large horn tower. High sensitivity (99 dB) and recommended large-room placement (>=215 ft²) imply strong in-room authority and effortless delivery at moderate power, so bass is scored in the upper tier.
Mid
92/100
A 3-way horn configuration typically yields very clear, forward, and highly resolving midrange performance; the design and high sensitivity suggest strong vocal presence and coherent timbre through the crossover. With no listening reports available, this rating is inferred from proven horn mid characteristics and the speaker's robust physical design.
Treble
90/100
Specified upper extension to 20 kHz and horn loading generally provide clear, detailed, and revealing treble. Horn tweeters can be lively depending on horn flare and loading; absent measured/on-listen data, score reflects expected high resolution with conservative allowance for tuning variability.
Soundstage Imaging
91/100
Large horn towers with dedicated mid and high horns typically deliver wide, well-layered soundstages and precise imaging. The speaker's size, weight, and horn architecture indicate strong spatial capability in appropriately sized rooms (manufacturer recommends ≥215 ft²).
Dynamics
95/100
Very high sensitivity (99 dB) and horn loading point to exceptional micro- and macro-dynamic performance and headroom even with modest amplifier power (20W spec suggests efficient design). This favors punch, transient speed, and dynamic contrast typical of horn systems.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
94/100
Massive physical weight (254 lb each) and large footprint imply substantial cabinet engineering and internal bracing. A three-way horn implementation usually requires careful crossover and mechanical construction; score reflects strong inferred build solidity though detailed materials/finish data are not provided.
Features Connectivity
80/100
Passive baseline applied: fixed 80. No DSP/app/streaming expected or penalized for a passive horn tower; additional terminal features not specified.
Value for Money
70/100
Price not provided, so value assessment is necessarily conservative. Given the high sensitivity, claimed 25 Hz extension, and very substantial build, these appear to be premium, niche speakers; without price or peer review language, a cautious mid-high value score is assigned.

I love horns! I feel as if I have to repeat that because it might have influenced a bit my perception of Destination Audio NiKA even if I tried to be as objective, as it is ever possible with any audio component. Let’s be honest though, it is not very likely that a fan of vented, or closed-cabinet designs will switch to horns after reading this one, or any other review. It wouldn’t be reasonable or recommended. It is a specific type of speaker one has to experience in a good setup and only then decide whether this is what floats their boat or not. If you decide to give them a try Destination Audio NiKA are one of the best possible choices I know.
Many low-power SET amplifier aficionados look for speakers that could be a good match for their amps both in terms of proper high sensitivity and flat impedance curve and top-level performance. Destination Audio NiKA may be your answer. They will be a fantastic match for even the best among SETs, they should perform well even in rooms as small as 20 sqm, and they will deliver a stunning, refined, highly resolving, yet smooth, natural, incredibly musical, but also highly dynamic, amazingly spatial, very „here and now” performance. They will keep you excited, and engaged, as listening to the music will become an immersive, never boring experience. These are some of the best speakers that ever visited my listening room. They, the same as WE 417 A phono stage, fully deserve our VICTOR award, despite the fact, that they are not even the top Destination Audio model.
