2 way surround speaker

The MODEL S is a flat speaker (15 cm deep) specially designed for the surround channels of a home cinema system. It can be wall-mounted (fixing system supplied) or flush-mounted. The speaker features a 16.5 cm diameter bass-midrange driver and a titanium dome tweeter. Its port is naturally located at the front.

Given its role as an effects loudspeaker, the MODEL S has been designed to be particularly dynamic. The driver uses a diaphragm weighing around 3 grams (particularly light for this diameter of driver), mounted on a small pleated suspension to become very reactive. The result is an output close to 94 dB. It is accompanied by a metal dome tweeter (titanium), also very rigid, to ensure high frequencies right to the end of the audible range.

POSITIONING

The MODEL S should be positioned, fixed to the wall, 3/4 of the way up from the ceiling (1.8 m high for a 2.4 m ceiling). The speaker should not face the listening area, but should be perpendicular to the wall. In short, the sound from the loudspeaker should “pass over” the listener when he or she is sitting on the sofa.

In the case of a 5.1 Home Cinema system: you have the option of mounting the speakers either on the side walls (left and right) or on the rear wall. In the latter case, position the speakers further away from the main listening area. Avoid placing the surround channels too close to the corners of the room (a distance of at least 70 cm is recommended).

For a 7.1 system, we recommend using 4 speakers: 2 on the rear wall and two on the side walls.

Please note MODEL S is designed to be configured in SMALL MODE on your AUDIO/VIDEO amplifier, i.e. we strongly recommend a low speaker cut-off at 80 Hz. It is with this setting that it will work and that its power handling will be assured

The terminal block accepts fork and banana plugs, but we recommend a direct connection with the stripped cable trapped by the screwed terminal block.
