What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 93/100
Reviews portray the Courbet N°4 as an unusually complete compact floorstander: clear and natural in tone, highly resolving, musically fluid and composed at substantial volume. Its particular strengths are spacious imaging, articulate bass and an open, refined top end, while its small dimensions make it especially suitable for small to medium-sized rooms.
Bass
90/100
Audiophile Fr was pleasantly surprised by the perceived depth, and found bass lines exceptionally well defined, firm and free from excess. Kick drums carry convincing body and impact, while hifitest.de also heard rich bass underpinning vocal arrangements.
Mid
94/100
The midrange is repeatedly praised for transparency, balance and vocal realism. Audiophile Fr highlights pure vocal texture, clear breaths and emotional communication, while hifitest.de describes voices as direct, intimate, crisp and unusually detailed for a speaker of this size.
Treble
94/100
Treble is described as clear, open and delicately detailed without aggression. Audiophile Fr heard sparkling, luminous highs with each note freely resolved, and hifitest.de reports pure, distortion-free upper frequencies that remain composed when played loudly.
Soundstage Imaging
95/100
Both reviews make a major virtue of the Courbet N°4's spatial performance. It produces a wide, deep and well-organized stage with strong separation between instrumental layers, and hifitest.de also notes generous listening-position freedom rather than a narrowly fixed sweet spot.
Dynamics
93/100
Audiophile Fr finds the speaker responsive and vigorous, with controlled accelerations and instantaneous reactions to changes in intensity. It retained coherence, natural tone and intelligibility at high levels rather than becoming strained.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
88/100
The Courbet N°4 uses a braced, high-density cabinet with a front bass port and a slightly tilted enclosure intended to support time alignment. Review coverage also notes a hard-wired crossover using low-resistance coils and SCR MKP capacitors, suggesting careful attention to the parts that matter.
Value for Money
94/100
At its listed price of 2,400, the Courbet N°4 receives unusually strong value endorsement. Audiophile Fr says it cannot recall competing floorstanders at this price offering superior musical performance, while hifitest.de rates value for money as very good.

Manufacturer's Description — Davis Acoustics
2 way floorstanding speaker
The discretion in HIFI
The latest addition to the Courbet range, this revolutionary little speaker will please you with its many qualities. Ideal for small rooms, it has been developed by integrating all the strong markers of the range, to obtain the sound of a larger floor standing speaker.
With more than 30 years of experience in speaker manufacturing, DAVIS Acoustics has once again created a custom transducer to match the unusual volume of the cabinet. Located midway between a speaker “bookshelf” and a “floor standing” of traditional size, the Courbet N ° 4 is equipped with a speaker bass / midrange capable of real prowess.
TECHNOLOGIES
Soft dome tweeter
The COURBET range uses the same tweeter across all models (TW28CD).
Kevlar Woofer
Once again, Kevlar was chosen for its ideal mass / stiffness ratio.
A rafined design
The enclosures in the COURBET range are tilted backwards to prevent the formation of internal standing waves.
Neutral Precision
The engineering work, described above, allows to obtain a very linear sensitivity curve, this is how the speaker completely disappears in favor of music. You will be seduced by the subtlety of the sound message. No frequency is put forward. This neutrality allows you to hear all the details of the recording, without any listening fatigue.
