Chesky Audio LC2 Reference Monitor
The Chesky Audio LC2 Reference Monitor makes its strongest case through exceptionally inert cabinetry and serious compact-speaker engineering. Future Audiophile highlights its remarkably solid double-walled composite enclosure, while aluminum baffles, balanced passive radiators, and hand-built construction reinforce its reference-grade build. It is a distinctive stand-mount designed for listeners who value low-resonance design and substance.

What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 75/100
The supplied review does not provide listening impressions of the LC2 Reference Monitor. Its bass, tonal balance, treble character, imaging, and dynamic ability therefore remain insufficiently documented here.
Bass
75/100
The review offers no direct comments on bass depth, control, texture, or integration. Although the specification lists dual passive radiators, that alone does not establish how the speaker sounds in use.
Mid
75/100
No listening observations address vocal realism, tonal body, clarity, or midrange coherence. More critical audition coverage would be needed to describe the LC2's midband character.
Treble
75/100
The supplied review does not discuss high-frequency detail, air, smoothness, or any tendency toward brightness. The tweeter description in the specifications is not a substitute for listening evidence.
Soundstage Imaging
75/100
There are no reviewer comments on image focus, soundstage scale, depth, or placement sensitivity. The available material does not establish how effectively the speakers disappear in a stereo setup.
Dynamics
75/100
The review says little about punch, transient expression, headroom, or amplifier demands in practice. Its 86dB sensitivity and 4-ohm nominal impedance describe the design but do not provide a listening verdict.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
91/100
Future Audiophile calls the double-walled composite cabinets acoustically inert and says that calling them solid is an understatement. The supplied specifications further describe hand-built US construction, aluminum baffles, and a substantial 30lb enclosure, though long-term durability is not discussed.
Value for Money
85/100
At $1,995 per pair, the LC2 competes in a demanding premium stand-mount market. The supplied review does not directly assess whether its performance and construction justify that price against competing speakers.

Compact Yet Fierce
Finally, a compact speaker that doesn't sound small. By ditching the traditional "bass port" for dual passive radiators, we achieved deep, chest-thumping bass in a cabinet small enough for your desk or bookshelf. You get the full-range power of a tower speaker without the clutter, and the precision of a studio monitor without the harshness.
Introducing a masterpiece
The LC1 and LC2 combine state-of-the-art technology with industry-leading dual-chamber aperiodic tweeters, high-definition cast-basket bass/midrange drivers, extraordinary crossovers, dualinertially-balanced passive sub-bass radiators, inert monocoque double-walled composite-filled cabinet construction and solid 5/8” thick -aircraft-grade aluminum baffles
BEST VALUE FOR THE BEST SOUND
A remarkably modestly sized speaker that deliver life-like resolution, room-filling imaging and the you-are-there quality of the world’s finest and most expensive loudspeakers plus balls-to-the-wall balls -- for under $2000 a pair.
Sound-first thinking
Chesky Audio speakers are designed around a single principle: remove everything that gets in the way of the music. By rethinking how a cabinet should behave and focusing on eliminating resonance and distortion at the source, the design allows sound to project with unusual clarity, depth, and realism. The result is a listening experience that feels far larger and more lifelike than the speaker’s size suggests.
