Chario Aviator Ghibli
Chario’s Aviator Ghibli wraps music in lush tonal warmth, lifelike vocals and a spacious soundstage. HiFi Choice found its refined, low-fatigue balance especially persuasive, combining finely layered midrange colour with surprisingly weighty, well-shaped bass. Add the sculptural Italian walnut finish and the Ghibli becomes a distinctive standmount for long, immersive sessions with jazz, acoustic and vocal music.

What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 88/100
The Ghibli is presented as an unusually smooth, warm and natural-sounding standmount, with especially persuasive vocals, generous bass weight and an expansive presentation. Its relaxed refinement makes it particularly appealing for long listening sessions, though hard rock listeners may want more overt attack and aggression.
Bass
89/100
For a 130mm-driver standmount, the bass is praised for its impressive weight and extension, while remaining solid, well shaped and rhythmically surefooted. Stand choice matters: on conventional stands it became thicker, slower and less textural, although it stopped short of sounding bloated.
Mid
92/100
Midrange reproduction is a clear strength. The review highlights beautifully rendered ambience, exquisite massed strings and a notably tangible, flesh-and-blood quality to Joni Mitchell's vocal.
Treble
82/100
The review identifies the unusual large silk-dome tweeter, waveguide and low crossover point, but offers little direct listening commentary on treble extension, detail or tonal balance. Its overall description of the speaker as smooth, sweet and fatigue-free suggests a refined rather than forceful top end.
Soundstage Imaging
90/100
The Ghibli creates a truly spacious soundstage, with separation and discrimination delivered subtly rather than in an artificially spotlit fashion. Proper setup helps it integrate into the room and largely disappear, leaving the focus on the music.
Dynamics
84/100
It has enough composure and rhythmic ability to handle funk, rock and dub, but the review characterises its delivery as rather polished and genteel. Listeners seeking the hardest-hitting, most aggressive presentation for hard rock may find more suitable alternatives.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
87/100
The review is effusive about the Ghibli's appearance, citing thick, rounded, age-dried Italian walnut cheeks and a distinctive leather-like baffle finish. It is described as exceptionally attractive, while the supplied dedicated stand is also substantial, with a heavy baseplate and tall metal supports.
Value for Money
85/100
At roughly £3,400-£4,000, or £4,130 with the dedicated stand, the Ghibli occupies a premium standmount market with many accomplished rivals. The review strongly praises its sound and appearance, but does not directly compare its value against competing speakers at the price.
