Bass
91/100
Stereo Magazine found the Smart Sub 8 astonishing for its deep bass and cleanliness. That points to unusually capable low-end reach and controlled reproduction for this compact sealed subwoofer.
Integration
88/100
In Stereo Magazine's setup, the Smart Sub 8 “perfectly complements” the SmartSound 3. This is direct evidence of a successful blend, though the review does not describe integration with a wider range of speakers or rooms.
Dynamics
82/100
The review praises deep, clean bass but provides little direct comment on slam, transient attack, output under pressure, or compression at high levels. Its dynamic limits and headroom are therefore not described in detail.

The subwoofer can operate by cable or wirelessly, adding useful placement flexibility. Adjustable crossover and room settings through a compatible Smart product, plus automatic power switching, give it a practical setup toolkit.
Value for Money

Premium Wireless
Smart Sub 8
The Smart Sub 8 is a compact active subwoofer that delivers deep and powerful bass. It can be connected wirelessly to the Canton Smart series or used with other speakers via cable. With a 200-watt digital power amplifier and an 8-inch driver, it provides an intense sound experience for music and films. Its elegant design with a glass surface and simple operation make it the ideal partner for smart speakers. Thanks to SC technology, it produces deep bass and switches on and off automatically.
Music & Film
The compact and stylish Smart Sub 8 active subwoofer provides the bass foundation within the Canton Smart family and, if desired, beyond: the downfire subwoofer in cube form can be easily connected wirelessly to all products in the Smart series. Connected via cable, it also brings out the best in its low-frequency talents with other speakers. In conjunction with the high-performance 8-inch chassis, the 200-watt digital power amplifier ensures deep and powerful bass for music and film playback. For example, it can amplify the bass foundation of the Smart Soundbar 9 or Smart Soundbar 10 - for even more intense goosebump moments.
Dream- Partner
The Smart Sub 8 is the ideal partner for all our Smart speakers. Simply connect it to the speakers wirelessly and the listening fun can begin. You can set the desired volume, the correct phase and the appropriate channel level using a Smart product such as the Smart Soundbar 10. Thanks to the downfire arrangement of the 220 millimetre bass driver, the subwoofer floods the entire listening room evenly with bass waves. Thanks to Canton's own SC technology, the Smart Sub 8 generates extremely deep bass - with incredible level stability. The Smart Sub 8 makes it easy for you and switches on automatically as soon as an audio signal is present and switches off again as soon as the film has finished.
Audio & Video
Not only hearing but also feeling hi-fi and cinema brings the listening experience to life. Our Smart Sub 8 subwoofer helps you experience your music and films in a new way. The bass and dynamics it produces from its compact housing are truly amazing. The wireless subwoofer makes it possible to create a stunning sound in your own four walls with very living room-friendly dimensions. It also looks stunningly good: the silver or black lacquered housing is crowned with a polished and hardened glass surface that makes the subwoofer an elegant piece of furniture.
