What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 93/100
Reviewers describe an exceptionally substantial, detailed and immersive presentation, combining serious low-frequency authority with warmth, precision and a highly convincing spatial picture. Tonal adjustment can affect the top end noticeably, but the speaker is repeatedly praised for its scale, impact and musical involvement.
Bass
96/100
Bass is a major strength: Twittering Machines heard sub-20Hz material reproduced as fully fleshed out as they had heard or felt, with superb control and earth-shaking weight. Like Hifi also praises its brilliantly dry precision, while Hi-Fi News found no shortage of bass or dynamic swing.
Mid
92/100
The midrange is described as expressive, warm and naturally communicative. Hi-Fi News found instruments breathily authentic and praised the character and warmth of vocals, while Like Hifi noted that voices dominate the room clearly without diminishing the speaker's musical warmth.
Treble
89/100
There is strong detail retrieval and transparency, with Like Hifi calling the presentation brilliantly detailed. Hi-Fi News found that the Neutral setting can sound slightly polite and dry, while the High setting adds snap but can introduce some brashness; at times, maximum detail comes with a trace of hardness.
Soundstage Imaging
94/100
Spatial performance receives especially enthusiastic praise. Like Hifi reports incredibly detailed depth and layering, a wide stage with images correctly placed, and a soundstage that materializes directly in front of the listener; Twittering Machines likewise heard a speaker-defying expansive image.
Dynamics
90/100
Hi-Fi News highlights the speakers' ability to go loud and deliver impact, and found their handling of orchestral dynamic swings convincing. Like Hifi also characterizes the sound as powerful and highly nuanced, though the reviews provide less direct discussion of fine dynamic gradation than of bass and imaging.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
88/100
The unusual 48cm spherical cabinets and curved stands make a dramatic visual statement, and Like Hifi describes the material as ultra-sturdy and stable. Hi-Fi News confirms their substantial 45kg-per-speaker construction, although the unconventional shape and mass make them difficult to move.
Value for Money
85/100
At roughly €15,000 per speaker, £22,599 in the UK, or about $29,990 per pair depending on market, these are firmly flagship-priced loudspeakers. The reviews make clear that they include streaming, amplification, DSP and room correction, but do not directly compare their value against similarly priced alternatives.
