What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 95/100
Reviewers describe an unusually complete, richly voiced stand-mount presentation: powerful and controlled low frequencies, a warm and substantial midrange, refined detail, and especially convincing spatial reproduction. Its character combines natural tonal weight and ease with the resolution and transient precision normally associated with more analytical speakers.
Bass
93/100
For a speaker using a 17 cm woofer, reviewers found the bass remarkably powerful, extended and effortless, with strong transient response and clear pitch definition. Nemo Propaganda heard no artificial mid-bass hump and considered a subwoofer optional for many listeners.
Mid
96/100
The midrange earns repeated praise for warmth, tonal richness and emotional communication without sacrificing resolution. Steve Guttenberg particularly highlights its greater weight, solidity and midrange gravitas, while Nemo Propaganda praises its soulful, natural presentation.
Treble
95/100
Nemo Propaganda describes an expansive, open and highly detailed top end that remains easy on the ears. Detail is said to stay naturally layered within the presentation rather than being aggressively thrust forward, with particularly strong sibilance control.
Soundstage Imaging
96/100
Spatial performance is a major strength. Reviewers report large width, depth and height, precise separation of instruments, and a notably solid center image; HiFi.nl adds that modest toe-in produces a spacious, deep stereo image.
Dynamics
94/100
Steve Guttenberg found the Murano especially expressive with subtle dynamic shading, piano transients and percussive energy. The speaker is praised less for brute-force slam than for making fine changes in touch, attack and musical intensity easy to hear.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
94/100
The Murano is consistently described as substantial and very well finished. HiFi.nl found the paintwork sleek and flawless, while other reviewers praise the solid curved cabinet, excellent fit and finish, and heavily built terminals.
Value for Money
94/100
At the reported $2,200 sale price, Nemo Propaganda calls the Murano the best hi-fi deal of 2024 and says it outclasses competing $2,000-$2,500 speakers. That assessment is tied to the discounted price; Steve Guttenberg cites a substantially higher $3,998-per-pair regular price without making a comparable value claim.

Manufacturer's Description — Cabasse
Murano is the smallest of our passive speakers with coaxial technology. Exceptional in all registers, it offers a luxurious and meticulous finish resulting from design and assembly in our workshops in France.
bc13 coaxial tweeter-midrange
The heart of the TC23 triaxial driver that equips our reference systems La Sphère and L’Océan, assembled and tested in our French workshops, the BC13 guarantees perfect fidelity of timbres, without artifice or listening fatigue, with an unparalleled depth and realism of the soundstage. We have equipped it with a new aluminum waveguide specifically designed to work optimally with the Murano woofer.
honeycomb membrane woofer
The 17ND36 woofer, designed specifically for Murano, miniaturizes the expertise of the legendary 55 cm driver from LA SPHERE, allowing for deep and fast bass in a small-volume enclosure. Its concave membrane with a honeycomb structure exhibits very high rigidity and excellent damping, allowing for large excursions without deformation. Guided by a long voice coil plunging into the 45 mm air gap of an oversized motor weighing four kilograms, this driver gives the Murano's bass the purity and solidity of crystal.
hdse filters
The Cabasse measurement protocol in an anechoic chamber takes into account measurements on-axis and at 360° for perfect control of directivity and total radiated power, in accordance with the Cabasse principle of Homogeneous Distribution of the Sonic Energy (HDSE). Direct sounds and reflected sounds are homogeneous, the soundstage is wide and stable.
Floorstand – Bookshelf
The stands specifically designed to accommodate Cabasse bookshelf speakers are available in matte black and white finishes. Their intelligent design allows cables to be hidden to ensure elegant integration into your listening space. These stands offer flawless stability for the brand's bookshelf speakers up to 50 kg.
