The reviewer heard a substantial advance in soundstage depth, width and dimensional specificity, alongside greater musical charge and a more persuasive sense of presence. Dynamic shifts were described as easier and more expansive, with vocals blooming rather than hardening; however, the belt-drive presentation was less crisp and forceful on transients than the comparison transport.

The twin-belt mechanism uses a large flywheel and a 380g clamp to support speed stability and reduce mechanical noise, while the spindle and laser assembly are mounted on a visco-elastically isolated subassembly. The review also describes FIFO-buffer reclocking through the partnering DAC's temperature-controlled oscillator, and finds SuperLink decisively superior to the alternative digital connections.

As a dedicated CD transport, the TL 2N's usability is determined by disc handling rather than network software. The review identifies one specific annoyance: it can repeat a full album but not an individual track; otherwise, it reports no significant navigation or operating problems.

Connectivity is unusually flexible for a CD transport, with SuperLink carried over four BNC connections alongside AES/EBU, coaxial and optical outputs. Selectable 2x and 4x upsampling is available on the conventional outputs, and an external word-clock input adds further integration options outside the SuperLink arrangement.

The TL 2N feels unexpectedly heavy, aided by an added steel base plate, and its twin-belt drive includes a substantial clamp and isolated transport subassembly. The reviewer does note that the main chassis walls are relatively thin, so the construction is purposeful rather than extravagantly overbuilt.

At roughly $6,900 to $8,000, the TL 2N is a specialist high-end transport. The reviewer clearly heard meaningful sonic gains and considers SuperLink central to realizing them, but does not directly assess whether the asking price represents especially strong or weak value against competing transports.
