Multiple reviewers hear an unusually smooth, open and artifact-free rendering that removes digital hardness without obviously rolling off detail. Part Time Audiophile says it sands down digital rough edges and is artifact-free enough to make listening effortless, while The Sound Advocate hears openness and freedom from “digital nasties”; one reviewer did find its bass less tight and solid than some solid-state alternatives.

The compact DAC is described as cleanly made and confidence-inspiring rather than lavishly finished.
