Blumenhofer Acoustics Genuin FS 2 MK 2
Big sound: precision, speed, and depth. Tailored for everyone. /lang
The new 12" woofer of the Genuin FS 2 MK 2 has the same technologies like the 16" woofer of the Genuin FS 1 MK 3. A powerful AlNiCo magnet moves a very good sounding paper membrane. The result is an improved Genuin FS 2 that then deserves the MK 2 tag. Structurally the loudspeaker is the same has the same dimensions and the same look. The sound has become more rich, the result and the improvements are in the same fields like the improvements on the Genuin FS 1 MK 3: more bass, more deepness and improved richness in the midrange. In our workshop we can offer true-wood veneers.Wood is a natural product and depending on several factors might have different color and structure. Color and structure variations of the surface are not to be considered flaws.

The Genuin FS 2 MK 2 pairs high efficiency with a horn/12"-woofer design to deliver powerful bass, natural mids and smooth treble, while its speed and dynamics create an expansive soundstage. Pros
- Authoritative, well-controlled low end from dual 12" woofers and floor-ported cabinet, providing a solid bass foundation.
- Smooth, non‑brassy compression-driver treble with cohesive woofer–tweeter integration when the tweeter is optimised for the listening position.
- Very wide, detailed soundstage and lively dynamics—high sensitivity lets the speakers stay controlled even at higher volumes.
- Handmade, robust construction with adjustable spikes, tunable port and a physically engineered horn that aid room tuning and long-term durability.

Cons
- Large, heavy cabinets (around 45 kg) can be difficult to move and demand substantial room space and setup effort.

Sound Quality
94/100
Weighted average of sub-criteria below.
Bass
94/100
Two 12" woofers in a floor-ported cabinet deliver authoritative low end: reviewer notes the woofers 'push the low end forward... with an ease' and that the speaker 'builds a foundation in the lower registers.' The design's large cone area and porting justify a near-reference bass rating; no complaints about lacking extension or need for a sub were reported.
Mid
94/100
Midrange praised for natural timbre and precise placement: 'Her guitar is absolutely natural... you can even hear Eva is sitting down with the guitar on her lap.' Instruments occupy distinct, realistic positions, indicating excellent mid coherence and timbral accuracy through the crossover.
Treble
92/100
Compression driver tuned for smoothness: reviewer states the FS 2 is 'remarkably smooth' and avoids the typical brashness of some compression drivers. Minor positioning sensitivity of the tweeter is noted ('when the tweeter is in the correct position the sound becomes nicely fluid'), hence a slightly lower but still excellent score.
Soundstage Imaging
94/100
Very large, well-layered presentation: the reviewer describes a 'huge soundstage' with voices 'spaced out' yet individually resolved, indicating excellent width, depth and image focus for live and ensemble recordings.
Dynamics
94/100
High sensitivity and control produce strong micro and macro dynamics: 'dynamics are no problem... the speakers seemed to enjoy the increased volume' and live passage excitement ('the Blumenhofers go wild with a big, live sound') emphasize slam, speed and headroom.

Build Quality
95/100
Handmade, robust construction with thoughtful engineering: 25mm birch plywood, internal wooden bracing, metal frames and a horn developed and built in-house are specifically cited. Adjustable metal frame and spike system for altering bass output demonstrate careful mechanical design and premium finish options.
Features Connectivity
80/100
Passive baseline applied. Review cites banana-plug friendly connections, adjustable tweeter position and an internal impedance correction jumper for tube amps; these are noted in the rationale but the passive-tower hard bound baseline (80) is used per rules.
Value for Money
88/100
Performance is highly praised but price is premium (listed ~17,500). The reviewer states it 'holds its place as a great system for whoever has the budget,' indicating good value for buyers who can afford it, but not language indicating a bargain or 'giant-killer' price-performance ratio.
