The Black Ice FX10H is a compact integrated speaker/headphone amplifier with a huge 3D sound. This Dynamo can power most speakers and any hard to drive headphone with up to 14 WPC.

THE BLACK ICE AUDIO FX10H INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER

The FX10H is an evolution of our amazing FX10. They both share the same sonic signature and are twins, but the FX10H incorporates the most requested features and revisions to reduce noise. The FX10H has a blacker background that gives it a more detailed holographic sound than its predecessor. New features include a 1/4in headphone out, RCA sub out, an all-new remote, and many more improvements.

This mighty little amp fits in areas with limited space and easily pushes difficult speakers because it has a high current output. As a general guide, the FX10 can comfortably push 90 dB or greater speakers in a large room(20x30) and 87 dB speakers in a medium room(13 x 18) at the proper listening distance. Nearfield (about 4 ft from the speaker) it can drive up to 84 dB speakers.

Headphones are no problem for this powerful tube amplifier, it outputs directly from the tubes and we use a resistor to keep from damaging headphones.

Here are the peak power levels with the Upgraded tubes we offer.

• Electro Harmonics EL84 (12 WPC). Platinum Match.  Well-balanced for simplistic music like jazz and vocals or dynamic music like rock, hip-hop, and big classical. The sound will have neutral highs and liquid mid-range with strong controlled bass. The bass will roll off between 22 and 23 Hz, providing more slam and dynamics.

  
  

• The Gold Lion EL84 (12 WPC). Brings you smoother highs, more energy and air in the upper mid-range, and tighter bass with more extension than the already excellent stock Electro-Harmonix EL84 tube. This is a great first tube upgrade for the F11.

  
  

• The Tung Sol 7189 (14 WPC) Adds about 2 watts of extra power over the standard EL84, in addition to fuller bass and excellent mids. The 7189 has a great upper-mid range. These tubes give the FX10 and F11 some more presence with hard to drive speakers. These should be part of your tube collection if you are an EL84 lover like us. We are not sure how long the supply will last.

BIG POWER

HEADPHONE OUTPUT

The FX10H has a 1/4 inch front headphone output which taps the tube’s power output. Hard to drive headphones are no problem, no matter the Impedance or efficiency.

SELF BIASING

This amplifier uses self-biasing to make it completely plug and play for the user. The Glass FX 10 is ideal for a set-and-forget system, where absolute ultimate sound takes second place to convenience and simplicity.

DUAL INPUTS

Two RCA inputs on the rear. The FX10H stacks perfectly with our Glass FX WiFi DAC.

RCA SUBWOOFER OUT

The FX10H now has a standard dedicated RCA subwoofer output.

LOWER NOISE FLOOR

The circuit has been revised to lower the noise floor of the FX10H by 10db over the already quiet FX10.

REVISED POWER and OUTPUT TRANSFORMERS

The specs have been tightened to allow a more efficient design, reducing heat and noise.

ALL-NEW ALUMINUM REMOTE

Totally new aluminum ergonomic remote with better range and functionality. You can also use our Fusion line remotes to control the FX10H.

INCREASED VENTILATION

The FX10H has a revised glass tube cage that offers more airflow to help keep the glass cooler to the touch.

WHITE LED LIGHTING

The FX10H has only a white LED power indicator and no longer has the blue LEDs under the tubes so you can enjoy the natural orange glow of the EL84s.
