B&O-Bang & Olufsen Beosound Emerge
The Beosound Emerge turns a remarkably slim silhouette into full, powerful bass and surprisingly loud performance. Pros
Delivers full, powerful and deep-reaching bass for such a compact speaker.
Sounds convincing with clear voices and fine detail when aimed directly at the listener.
Premium, distinctive design is matched by easy operation, useful room compensation and a versatile app EQ.
Cons
Narrow, highly directional dispersion means voices and detail fade noticeably off-axis.
Bass is deep but not especially controlled, and the side panels can vibrate under heavy bass.
The premium price is difficult to justify for listeners needing wider room coverage.

What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 80/100
Placed carefully and aimed directly at the listener, the Emerge was found to sound convincing, full and surprisingly loud for its slender form. Its narrow listening window is a significant limitation: vocal presence and detail fall away noticeably away from the speaker's forward-facing beam.
Bass
85/100
The reviewer describes bass as full, powerful and capable of reaching deep for such a compact speaker. However, it is not especially controlled, and the cabinet's side panels can be felt vibrating under bass-heavy material.
Mid
80/100
When listened to directly from the front, the Emerge can deliver a convincing presentation. Move away from that position, though, and voices and fine detail reportedly fade quickly, making midrange clarity highly dependent on placement.
Treble
75/100
The review gives little direct detail about treble extension, refinement or tonal balance. It does note that details are lost when listening off-axis, reinforcing the importance of a carefully chosen listening position.
Soundstage Imaging
77/100
The speaker performs best when it has space to project directly towards the listener. Its strongly directional sound means the sweet spot is limited, rather than offering consistently open coverage around a room.
Dynamics
85/100
The Emerge was described as surprisingly loud, an impressive result from such a compact cabinet. The review does not provide much further detail on large-scale dynamic headroom or subtle dynamic shading.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
88/100
The Emerge earned explicit praise for its premium build quality and distinctive, elegant appearance. There is a practical reservation, however: the side panels were reported to vibrate audibly to the touch under bass pulses.
Value for Money
80/100
At the reviewed €600 price, the reviewer considered it a lot of money given the Emerge's limited sound dispersion. Its premium finish, compact design and strong performance in the ideal listening position help its case, but competing speakers with wider room coverage may be easier to justify.
