What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 94/100
Reviewers consistently describe a powerful, detailed and highly musical presentation, combining tight control with warmth, clarity and strong rhythmic drive. It is also praised for an expansive, well-organised stereo image, though one reviewer wanted still greater punch and transient force.
Transparency Resolution
94/100
Hifi Pig found the Accent tight and open, with enough clarity to follow every detail of trumpet and saxophone. Alpha Audio says it does not yield detail retrieval to a more expensive Moon amplifier, while hi-fi+ heard clean, crisply outlined instruments and strong insight into performances.
Tonal Balance Musicality
95/100
Audiodrom praises vivid yet natural tonal colours, exceptional vocal reproduction and an enjoyable touch of warmth without obvious coloration. Across the reviews, the Accent is repeatedly described as musical, emotionally communicative and engaging without sounding cold or edgy.
Dynamics
93/100
The 70W Class A/B output was repeatedly said to drive demanding loudspeakers effortlessly, with substantial grip, fast transients and convincing rhythmic energy. Hifi Pig and hi-fi+ especially praise its speed and snap, although Audiodrom wished for more punch, texture and transient impact in direct comparison.
Soundstage Imaging
94/100
Audiograde heard a soundstage as wide as it was deep, richly populated even in a 30sqm room. Hifi Pig reported excellent spread and a three-dimensional stage, while Alpha Audio found instruments precisely placed in a spacious presentation with clearly separated voices.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
95/100
Construction receives unusually emphatic praise: Hifi Pig calls it excellently built and outstanding, while Alpha Audio says it is built like a tank. Reviewers also point to the thick machined aluminium front panel, robust steel chassis, substantial transformer, quality ALPS control and carefully specified internal components.
Features Connectivity
87/100
The Accent is an analogue-focused amplifier with four RCA line inputs, a versatile MM/MC phono stage with selectable gain and loading, and a dedicated Class A headphone amplifier that reviewers found capable with demanding headphones. The supplied remote is well regarded, but there are no balanced, digital, streaming or HDMI connections; reviewers specifically note that balanced input would have been welcome.
Value for Money
93/100
At roughly £4,500, reviewers regard the Accent as an excellent buy rather than merely a premium-priced specialist product. Hi-fi+ recommends it enthusiastically at the asking price, while Audiograde and Hifi Pig both call it worth every penny, citing its long-term build, phono stage and all-round performance.
