FLS 9 Stereo, full balanced integrated amplifier

FLS9 highlights

The FLS 9 is our latest creation in hi-end integrated amplifiers and is the best choice for a mid priced hi-end integrated amplifier.

It shares with FLS 1 model same fully balanced preamplifier stage boards. Power channels use 12 highly selected power devices, 8 power supply circuits with extra low impedance and very low noise, high quality capacitors (120.000 uF), special printed boards with extra thick copper layer, 1000 W shielded audio toroidal transformer. The150 Wrms (8 ohm) output power follows the acclaimed Audia tradition of speed, power, driving capability and control ability. The FLS 9 is also suitable for less efficient, impedance critical (down to 2 ohm) loudspeaker systems. The aluminum chassis, with engraved “Audia Flight” logo on top cover, and solid aluminum milled remote control are brushed and anodized. It possible to install two optional cards, plug and play, very easy to install in separate slots externally accessible.

The elegant chassis is full brushed aluminum with engraved logo on top cover, the large display is OLED blue. Four special composite pads with NBR rubber spheres ensure the best vibration control. An aluminum brushed and anodized remote control is also supplied as standard.

FLS 9 is available in silver and black finish.

Optional cards:

-MM and MC unbalanced inputs phono board.

-RCA board (2 RCA additional inputs).

-DAC board. One asynchronous USB input (with Galvanic isolation) 32 bit 384KHz and DSD 512. Four digital inputs (2x optical, 1x AES/EBU, 1x SPDIF).

 32bit, 192KHz (with Galvanic isolation).

Audia Flight FLS9 — muscular, elegant, and modular

The Audia Flight FLS9 is a hefty, hand-built Italian integrated amp that marries robust Class AB power with a velvety, musical presentation. Reviewers from HiFi News and StereoNET note its combination of authority and refinement: fast, controlled dynamics, deep, well-articulated bass and a smooth treble. Its imaging is wide and holographic, giving excellent instrument separation and depth across genres.

Built like a tank (25.5kg, large toroidal transformer, extensive capacitance) the FLS9 also offers practical flexibility via modular slots for an AKM-based DAC and MM/MC phono stage, plus a capable headphone section. Ideal for listeners who want a single, upgradeable hub that can drive demanding speakers while preserving nuance, the FLS9 balances sonic poise with real-world power. 150W per channel and modular expansion make it a compelling all-in-one proposition.

StereoNET United Kingdom

"It's one of the best integrated amps I've ever heard."

Pros

  • Strong, controlled dynamics and headroom — delivers muscular power without losing composure.
  • Exceptional imaging and soundstaging with precise instrument separation and depth.
  • Robust build and modular connectivity — hand-built chassis, large transformer/capacitance and slots for DAC and phono modules plus a strong headphone output.

&

Cons

  • Operational quirks: the volume control and menu navigation can feel slow or fiddly, making some adjustments cumbersome.
  • Volume memory/behavior can be awkward — unit restores previous level on power-up, which may lead to unexpectedly high output if not managed.

Dynamics

92/100

Class AB design with 150W/chan into 8Ω and very high damping factor (>500) supports strong dynamics: reviewers repeatedly cite speed, control and the ability to 'play loud without losing composure' (StereoNET: 'very fast...turn on a dime'; Pursuit: 'fast...no noticeable sound degradation'). The amp handles transients and headroom very well for its class.

Soundstage Imaging

92/100

Consistently praised imaging: reviewers report wide, deep, and well-focused staging with excellent instrument separation (HiFi News: 'pin-pointed details across a wide stage'; The Ear: 'image is a sound bubble...wide, wider than the actual set-up'). Holographic presentation and clarity are recurring observations.

Build Quality

92/100

Hefty, hand-built Italian construction noted across reviews (25.5kg, beefy toroidal transformer, 120,000µF capacitance, thick PCBs). Described as 'bomb-proof' and luxurious (StereoNET/HiFi News), with robust thermal and mechanical design supporting long-term reliability.

Features Connectivity

94/100

Very well featured for an integrated: 3x RCA and 2x XLR line inputs, balanced pre-outs/record out, optional high-quality AKM4497-based DAC module (supports up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD) and an optional MM/MC phono stage with loading options, plus a usable headphone section. Expandable modular slots for DAC/phono (and future streaming card) make it flexible and reduce box count.

Value for Money

88/100

Reviewers acknowledge the FLS9 is a premium-priced product (examples: unit with modules ~£8,900; base models cited near £5,950) but generally find it justifies its price through sound, build and flexibility ('worthy of a demo', 'recommended'). Several note strong competition at that price point, tempering an unequivocal value claim.
