Art Audio Composer Solo Turntable

Started life as the Clarity '09 by Claro Engineering, Tom Willis, the owner and chief designer of Art Audio, saw the potential of this design and the company has taken over the turntable and its forward development.

The Composer 1 was a strictly limited edition of 30 with only a few left that can be supplied new. However, development and improvement have continued, with added mass sub platters, improved arm mounts, improvements to the massive foot arrangement, power supplies, and crucially decoupling.

Design Details

The turntable consists of a plinth made from aluminium machined to a tolerance of +/- 0.01mm, mounted on three machined aluminium feet.

Features include a centrally mounted CNC machined subplatter that is perfectly concentric and balanced. An optional second mass sub-platter can be added to improve rotational stability and provide a strobe marking.

The platter is made of solid "Acetal" acrylic, machined and polished to provide either an imperfection-free frosted finish or a black version.

Additional Features

A clear perspex cover system is available that encapsulates the deck when not in use, protecting it from dust.

Upgrades are available for all owners, including those with original units sold by Claro, covering improvements in various aspects of the turntable's design.
