Amphion One25A
Active full range studio monitor
The One25A 3-way studio monitor is the culmination of our 25-year commitment to advanced acoustic design, pure refined signal path, and meticulous craftsmanship – enhanced with the benefits of active design without any of the downsides.
Unique highlights
Industry leading translation
Trusting what you hear builds confidence, ensures better results and raises productivity. Amphion monitoring allows focusing on things that count which saves time and helps meet the ever tightening deadlines.
Pinpoint imaging
Due to their phase coherence and pinpoint imaging, Amphion monitors translate precisely to any playback device, as they allow you to correctly reproduce information in all planes including width, height, and depth.
Simple, refined signal path
Active speakers typically suffer from a lack of resolution due to their complex signal paths. The One25A is free of dynamics and detail-degrading DSP and AD/DA stages, which leads to maximum resolution and performance.
Isolated independent chambers
New midrange and tweeter are in an isolated sealed chamber which minimizes the bass woofer’s negative effects like pressure changes, leading to high midrange and treble resolution ensuring crystal clear transparency.
Acoustic symmetry
The baffle around the midrange is acoustically symmetrical, which leads to smooth frequency curve and precise imaging. Amphions proprietary 5th generation U/D/D improve driver integration and speaker performance in a room.
External Electronics
The electronics of One25A are housed outside the cabinet in a rigid steel enclosure. This ensures optimal ventilation, lower operating temperatures and minimises the harmful effects of vibration and magnetic stray fields.

Deep, controlled bass and exceptional low-end extension give the One25A authoritative punch, while a transparent midrange and precise imaging reveal detail and stereo depth, with airy treble clarity. Reviewers such as Robert Silva and Best of High End highlight its build and active three-way design, delivering abundant headroom for studio work.
Pros
- Deep, extended and tightly controlled bass from the 10" woofer, sealed dual cabinet and 700 W bass amplifier
- Accurate, phase-coherent midrange and wide, stable stereo imaging that translates well across systems
- High per-driver amplifier power (2x205 W for tweeter/mid, 700 W bass) provides strong headroom and dynamic capability
- Premium handmade Finnish construction with a stiff, braced sealed enclosure for low resonance and long-term reliability

Cons
- Focused, pro-audio connectivity (balanced XLR only) means few consumer-friendly inputs
- High-end pricing and positioning (noted MSRP/retail figures in reviews) may be out of reach for many buyers

Bass
95/100
10" woofer in a sealed, active 3-way with 700 W bass amp and a measured 22 Hz (-3 dB) response delivers exceptional extension and control for its size. Sealed design and dedicated power favor tight, well-controlled low end; suitable without a sub for many uses.
Mid
92/100
Dedicated 5.25" aluminium mid with its own 205 W amp and a 100 Hz/2 kHz crossovers implies highly resolved, neutral and authoritative midrange. Expect precise timbre and strong vocal presence typical of studio-class monitors.
Treble
90/100
1" titanium tweeter extending to 55 kHz provides very good air and detail retrieval. Titanium can lean toward brightness, but the three-way design and Amphion tuning should keep the top end controlled and revealing rather than forward.
Soundstage Imaging
92/100
Three-way active architecture, precise crossover points and sealed cabinet support strong image focus, depth and stereo layering. Expect stable, well-defined imaging suited to critical listening and nearfield mixing.
Dynamics
91/100
High per-driver amplifier power (205 W mids/tweeters, 700 W bass) and 105 dB max SPL give excellent macro- and microdynamic capability for the enclosure footprint. Headroom should be abundant for most studio and high-fidelity uses.

Build Quality
94/100
Handmade in Finland, solid sealed cabinet and heavy overall weight (41 kg) indicate premium construction and internal bracing. Driver and amplifier integration suggest high craftsmanship and reliability.
Features Connectivity
85/100
Professional balanced XLR input (pin 2 hot) is appropriate for studio/pro audio use. Lacks consumer conveniences (RCA, digital inputs, wireless), but as a focused active monitor its connectivity is adequate and purposeful.
Value for Money
82/100
Price information not provided; given high-end construction, active three-way design and class-leading specs (22 Hz, dedicated amps), the One25A likely represents strong value among pro monitors if priced in the high-end studio bracket. Final value grading depends on actual street price and competitors.
